As soon as our exams were over, some friends and I took the backpacks and went to Ortigueira. It’s a town, situated in the North of A Coruña, that every summer hosts a large number of pilgrims to the Celtic Festival. Besides folk music concerts, there are several shows, exhibitions, craftsmanship fair and several activities during all day. The festival has been celebrated since 1978 and its strength is so important that it was declared “Fiesta de Interés Turístico Nacional”.

Ortigueira is a meeting-place for thousands of very mixed people from anywhere in the world, for friendship, cultures, music, fun, experiences… There, life is shared between the town and the camping place, in a large area where freedom is the only law (although the distance between both is also a moment for collecting good anecdotes).Nevertheless, if you want to find some relax and peace (yes, it’s possible!), the beach, near the camping area, is the best nook.

It was a pity when we left Ortigueira but everyone took a lot of stories to tell and good memories. We will return!

I think you have made a good work with this text, but maybe it's a bit short.In addition I think you talk about your own experience more than the festival, and even the place where it's located, the Ría of Ortigueira. I think this fact reduces the interest of the text, because there are lots of very important places and monuments in the village and nearby to talk about. Finally,I think like you that it is a very good experience, and maybe we'll meet there next year.

I also like Ortigueira. I was there this year and the last year too. It is a beautiful place and you can meet a lot of different people. There are people of different cities. I wet this year whit a lot of friends. We went on Thursday.
In Ortigueira there is a lot of freedom. You can listen to music, go to the beach (if the weather is good), visit the village, and drink a lot…
I recommend this party to everybody. In special people who like Celtic music and new experiences. I will go back again.

In my opinion the festival of Ortigueira is the best in the summer. Everyone is happy and they have a good time. I only went once but I will go back.
I went with fourty people from Tui . I knew a lot of different people, although some of them were very different from me. I learnt many things with them.
It´s a dream!! Everyday should be like this!
Next summer I hope to see you there!!

You wrote a good article about Festival do Mundo Celta de Ortigueira, beacause it is the best festival in Galiza and the most popular in Spain .But I think that you didn´t remember about other think;
On the one hand, Ortigueira is a place where a lot of cultures and kinds of life are together. People who go to this festival are from different countries and nationalities;
This situation makes that every time more people know about festival, because they speak with their friends and brothers about this party. This is the best publicity.
On the other hand, I think that Festival do Mundo Celta de Ortigueira is possible because a lot of people work for it. Sometimes there are some people that want to break the party, and is important that they go home; ONLY FRIENDLY PEOPLE.
Finally and specially important ,most people who go there are perfect to live with for 3 days. It is special.

ortigueira´s festival is simply brilliant, I have been there two summers ago,the atmosphere that is breathed is really fantastic, in the middle of the Galician Rias Altas, along with the sound of the galician bagpipes...I passed a great time.
the groups are incredible, everyone enjoy the different folk music concerts, even who doesn´t like celta music at all.
from my point of view this is a festival that´s worth visiting..

I agree with you in almost everything you say.
i have visited Ortigueira twice, and I think that it is a beautiful village with a very pleasant people. the Celtic Music Festival is simply brilliant, but there is one thing that I cannot stand: "techno" music.
Idon't understand why in a Celtic Music Festival there are about ten places with techno music, that outshine the rest places with music.

I agree with you,I love this festival and I was there three times running.In my opinion,Festival of Ortigueira is special though it is very exhausting too!(above all if you stay there 5 days).Landscape is really beautiful,and everyone enjoys with concerts.In the camping there is a good atmosphere, and you can find very different and peculiar people.It is a unique experience.BMR

I love Ortigueira!!!! I agree with the previous comments. Your article is a big true.
I was there last summer, it was so great experience!!!
All the time you can sing, play instruments and meet funny people.
The music is with you in all the places, if you can get relax in the beach there is slow music. Do you want hard party? Going to the village and dance!
When I went, the weather was bad; it was raining for 3 days!! But I will repeat!
